ABOUT

From filmmaking to social transformation
I am a project coordinator, facilitator and documentary filmmaker with over 25 years of experience at the intersection of art and political education, social engagement, communication and media production. I design and lead community-oriented and international projects that promote dialogue, participation and solidarity—ranging from neighbourhood initiatives to internationally acclaimed documentary films. Multilingual and with a strong intercultural background, I am passionate about building bridges between cultures, bringing empowering stories to light and strengthening transnational networks of solidarity.
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, I have a Bachelor in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo (USP) and Direction of Photography from the San Antonio de los Baños International Film and Television School (EICTV) in Havana, Cuba. From my anthropological research to the present day, I have worked with different communities and their allies, researching, filming and giving workshops in various territories in internationally. My projects focus on creative and artistic storytelling, social-environmental justice, historic memory, intersectionality and ecofeminism.
Over the last decade, I have been documenting stories that have been silenced in the construction of collective memory. The result is serie "The Dangerous Memory" and the film "The Wind Blows the Border“ (co-directed with Laura Faerman), winner of a dozen national and international awards.
Living between Berlin and São Paulo, I speak 4 languages and work to strength and empower process that emancipates people, communities and their territories, everywhere.
